Little Duckling AR Family Friendly Cycle Trail at Wigan Flashes
Created in partnership with British Cycling, the Little Duckling AR cycling trail provides plenty of interactive fun for the whole family to enjoy! Simply download our app for free and watch the wildlife come to life!
Before setting off on this amazing trail, please make sure you have downloaded our AR app. The app is free and can be found in both the app store and the play store.
The Trail
Park at Wellham Road outside of Hawkley Hall High School then follow the path straight ahead towards the canal. The incredible nature and wildlife starts before you even begin the trail! As you cross over the canal bridge take a left and go through the gate where you then take the first right on to the yellow brick road. This is where the fun starts!
Dotted along the path are a series of posts each with its own individual animal native to the Carbon Landscape. Follow the path all the way until you reach the Carbon Landscape monolith then turn right where you will be guided down towards Turners flash. Follow the path around and don’t forget to stop at each of the posts! Don’t forget, as you complete the trail take note of all the incredible wildlife that surrounds you, it’s incredible!
How to use the CL App
The Carbon Landscape app is really easy to use!
Simply scan the QR code at each location and watch as the animal comes to life in the natural settings around you in a fun and interactive way. Alongside seeing the animal, the app will provide you with audio information about what makes it so special. That’s not all! You can even take a photo with your favourite animal as though it was actually there with you!
The trail ends where it starts and is such a great way to explore a part of Wigan Flashes!
